Doesn't give final answers; l have no idea if l did the problems right or not

This textbook was given as prescribed for my thermodynamics course, and this comes from a student perspective. Straightly put, this is an incredibly well-written, concise, and easy-to-understand textbook, perfect for both beginners and students coming in with an existing grounding in thermo and its engineering applications. Each section is clearly laid out and follows a logical progression both in-chapter and throughout the book, with easy to understand diagrams and worked examples.As another review has already mentioned, this book does not give the answers for its homework questions; otherwise this review would be five star. However, most of these questions are in the same format as the example problems given and can be solved the same way; peer collaboration and comparison mitigates this issue. I would prefer to give this book four and a half stars, but Amazon doesn't do things by half.Overall this is the only textbook I have ever enjoyed and would recommend. I had an extremely poor thermodynamics lecturer, but this textbook helped me get an extremely high score in a pass famed at my university for its 50+% failure rate. Get a hardcopy, or at least an e-book - this one's worth the money.

About the Author
Bennett L. Schwartz got his Ph.D. in 1993 from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.  Since then he has been  at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, where he is currently Professor of Psychology and a Fellow of the Honors College.  He is author or editor of 8 books as well as over 50 journal articles and chapters.  His textbook,  Memory:  Foundations and Applications, 2nd edition (Sage Publications) was published in 2014. At FIU, he  has won several teach awards and currently teaches courses in Memory,Cognition and Sensation and Perception.  His main research area is metacognition, but he has also conducted research in areas as diverse as visual percepton to evolutionary psychology  to the language of thought to memory in non-human primates.  Schwartz also serves on the editorial board of several journals and recently served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Research in Memory And Cognition.

John H. Krantz received his psychology PhD from the University of Florida. After graduate school he worked in industry at Honeywell on visual factors related to cockpit displays. In 1990, he returned to academia taking a position at Hanover College.  John has done extensive research in vision, human factors, computers in psychology, and the use of the web as a medium for psychological research. He has been Program Chair and President of the Society for Computers in Psychology and Editor of the journal, Behavior Research Methods.  John was the first to develop Web experiments in psychological science and lead the way on techniques for sending multimedia via the Web. He has served as a faculty associate for The Psychology Place developing interactive learning activities and created psychology’s first global web site for the Association for Psychological Science (APS). In addition, he is an author on both the Cognitive Toolkit and PsychSim 6. John is well known for his widely used online psychological experiments related to sensation, perception and cognition. His current research is focused on using the web for psychological research and modeling the visual system.
